Adam Rangihana Poet, Makes You Miss Home

East or west home is best but Adam Rangihana does not only want you to focus on the destination. He wants you to enjoy the journey of going home. He paints a beautiful mental picture in our minds of what home means leaving his readers all nostalgic.

The memories that fill my mind on reading his work is a combination of the past, present and future after all that seems to be what he wrestles with; what home was, is and what it will be upon arrival. This can be seen when he says “Ancient forgotten synaptic impulses silently explode and stir with a millennia of unremembered feelings and emotions, the mind sees a person it knew so long ago and captured in that moment in that reflection is the person you had always dreamed you wanted to be smiling back… which is a good odd feeling as only time and space can be both good and odd, but still bittersweet not wanting to lose one over the other, but not wanting to lose the intensity of once again seeing your mother, your love and reason for being your home.”

We are invited into a journey of a traveler coming back home, home is the place where our past memories and emotions dwell. The reader is able to develop a deeper connection with the traditional indigenous Polynesian lifestyle. We get to meet their family, eat their food, love as they love and most of connect.

I am taken away by how he describes everything and everyone with so much depth that his words are almost tangible. You can feel everything. You can feel his love for the girl and his love for his mother. It's almost as if you too want to cry out and greet everyone who makes home that one place that you miss.

Adam Rangihana’s seems to have really taken some good wine onboard a Virgin airline flight since this is where the inspiration began.

The book’s artwork has been done by none other than Luke Sciberras. Sciberras work is an exhibition of the human condition hence the ability to easily connect with this particular poem. For him intimacy is an essential ingredient of expressing authenticity.

Sciberras is all about being genuine and imparting the same to his audience. His work is all about sharing the story and beauty of what is around us. He enables us see Rangihana’s world as it is. I can almost see the Pacific ocean and Katrina Bishop as she smiles while I take a bite off the apple pie. This is a world where pictures speak louder than words.

This is Adam Rangihana's first book on poetry and short stories and it is set to be released to the online community early 2017.

Only time will be the judge of this literary work in terms of worth and value. But all in all it is kudos to Rangihana for taking us home.

Lovers of poetry and short stories can follow Adam Rangihana on LinkedIn in order to get to know the exact online release date.
